 Academics

As a college preparatory boarding school, Fenster Boarding School is dedicated to providing an academic structure that leads to success. We provide a traditional curriculum of the core subject areas needed for a successful college placement.

Our academic environment is designed to accelerate students in introductory to advanced classes and college dual enrollment classes. All curriculums support writing, reading and math. These targeted areas are essential to better prepare students for the PSAT, ACT and SAT national assessments.

With very small classes, teachers can easily monitor the academic performances of their students. At the end of every seven period class day, teachers are expected to identify the students who need extra help. Tutorials are then utilized for those students. The 8th period tutorials provide the students with the opportunity to work with their teachers and to get back on track. Fenster believes in academic structure, therefore, every effort is made to ensure that the students' needs are being met in the classroom.

The development of each student's program is flexible, taking into account previous academic experience and post secondary plans. Course placement is subject to review of academic transcripts and relevant testing…..college concurrent classes are offered to all seniors.

Our goal is to have every graduating senior be accepted to a four year school and take college dual enrollment classes at Fenster school. All teachers have degrees in the content areas and over half the staff has a masters or PH.D. Degree, our teaching staff is the strength of the academic program.

College Placement & Guidance

Successful college placement is a result of careful preparation. Fenster students work closely with the college counselor. Juniors and seniors will attend college fairs and will be encouraged to find the appropriate two or four-year college or university that will realistically meet their needs. Juniors must take the SAT and ACT test in the spring. As a senior, students work with the counselor researching appropriate colleges and receiving guidance in the application process. There are also opportunities for retaking the SAT and ACT tests. The college counselor is available to work with students at all stages of the application process. As a group, the staff at Fenster Boarding School is dedicated to providing our students with the skills needed to succeed in college. Send Your Child to a Co-ed Boarding School that Emphasizes High Academic Achievements

At the Fenster boarding school academy, our focus is placed on helping students reach high academic levels. With the lowest acceptable grade for any class being a C, even our scoring system reflects our dedication to making sure students understand and actually learn the material taught to them. Students who do not get a high enough grade at the end of the semester must retake the course.

Though our boarding school academy’s policies are strict, we make sure to provide students with resources they need to succeed in every subject area. From extra tutorials in our 8th period to study tables every day of the week, we encourage our student body to apply themselves to learning new materials well. Special recognition is given to students who excel in their individual classes and in the overall semester. Through such encouragement at our specialty boarding school, our students continually strive to do their best and to improve their performance in academics.
